Whole House Repiping (PEX & Copper)

When problems are widespread throughout the plumbing system, whole house repiping in Las Vegas may provide a more comprehensive solution.

Whole House Repiping in Las Vegas: PEX & Copper Repiping

Recurring plumbing leaks, aging pipes, poor water pressure, and deteriorating plumbing can become increasingly difficult—and expensive—to address one repair at a time.

When problems are widespread throughout the plumbing system, whole house repiping in Las Vegas may provide a more comprehensive solution.

Integrity Plumbing provides professional PEX and copper repiping in Las Vegas for homeowners who need to replace aging or problematic water supply lines throughout their property.

Whether you’re dealing with recurring leaks, corroded pipes, low water pressure, aging plumbing materials, or planning a major renovation, our plumbers can evaluate your existing plumbing system and determine whether targeted repairs or a whole house repipe makes the most sense.

What Is Whole House Repiping?

Whole house repiping involves replacing some or all of the water distribution piping that carries water throughout your home. These pipes supply water to fixtures and appliances such as:

  • Kitchen faucets
  • Bathroom faucets
  • Showers
  • Bathtubs
  • Toilets
  • Washing machines
  • Dishwashers
  • Refrigerators
  • Water heaters
  • Utility sinks
  • Outdoor hose connections
  • Other water-using fixtures

Over time, existing piping can develop corrosion, leaks, restrictions, or other problems. Instead of continually repairing individual sections, a repipe replaces aging supply piping with new plumbing materials.

Whole House Repipe vs. Water Service Line Replacement

These are two related but different plumbing services.

Your water service line generally carries water from the municipal supply to your home.

The water distribution piping inside your home then carries that water to individual fixtures and appliances.

If the underground pipe supplying your property is leaking, you may need Water Service Line Installation or Replacement.

If the piping throughout the interior of your home is deteriorating or repeatedly leaking, a whole house repipe may be more appropriate.

In some older properties, both portions of the plumbing system may need attention.

Integrity Plumbing can evaluate where the plumbing problem originates before recommending a solution.

Signs Your Home May Need Repiping

One plumbing leak doesn’t necessarily mean your entire house needs new pipes.

However, a pattern of plumbing problems may indicate that the piping system is deteriorating as a whole. Common reasons homeowners consider repiping include:

  • Recurring plumbing leaks
  • Multiple pipe repairs
  • Aging water lines
  • Corroded pipes
  • Low water pressure
  • Reduced water flow
  • Discolored water
  • Visible pipe deterioration
  • Frequent pinhole leaks
  • Plumbing problems in multiple areas
  • Major home renovations
  • Concerns about older plumbing materials

If you’re repeatedly calling a plumber to repair different sections of the same aging system, it may be worth evaluating the overall condition of the plumbing.

Low Water Pressure Throughout the House

Low water pressure can make everyday tasks frustrating.

Showers may feel weak. Faucets may take longer to fill sinks. Running more than one fixture at a time may cause noticeable reductions in flow.

Low pressure can have several causes, including:

  • Pipe restrictions
  • Corrosion
  • Leaks
  • Pressure regulator problems
  • Valve problems
  • Water service line issues
  • Fixture problems

Older pipes that have accumulated significant internal corrosion or mineral deposits may have less usable interior space for water to flow.

However, low pressure alone doesn’t prove that your home needs repiping.

Integrity Plumbing also provides Water Pressure Troubleshooting in Las Vegas to determine what is causing the problem before recommending major plumbing work.

Frequent Plumbing Leaks

One of the biggest warning signs is a history of recurring leaks. A single leak can occur for many reasons and may only require a localized repair. But when leaks begin appearing in multiple locations, the problem may no longer be isolated.

Older piping can deteriorate throughout the system at approximately the same stage of its life.

Repairing one weak section doesn’t necessarily address other areas that may be experiencing similar deterioration. Integrity Plumbing can evaluate whether continued spot repairs remain practical or whether a larger repiping project should be considered.

Discolored Water From Your Faucets

Changes in water color can have several possible sources.

If discoloration appears consistently or seems associated with older plumbing, a plumber can evaluate whether deteriorating or corroded pipes may be contributing to the issue.

Pay attention to whether the discoloration occurs:

  • At one faucet
  • At multiple faucets
  • Only with hot water
  • With both hot and cold water
  • After water hasn’t been used for several hours

Those details can help narrow down where the problem originates.

Visible Corrosion on Plumbing Pipes

Exposed pipes can sometimes provide clues about the condition of the plumbing system.

Signs worth having evaluated include:

  • Corrosion
  • Mineral buildup
  • Discoloration
  • Moisture around joints
  • Previous repair patches
  • Signs of recurring leakage

The appearance of an exposed section doesn’t always tell you the condition of every pipe hidden inside the walls, but visible deterioration can be a reason to evaluate the system more closely.

What Types of Pipe Can Be Used for Repiping?

Two common options homeowners hear about when researching whole house repiping are PEX and copper.

Each material has characteristics that may make it appropriate for different installations.

Integrity Plumbing can evaluate your property and discuss which piping option is suitable for the project.

PEX Repiping in Las Vegas

PEX—cross-linked polyethylene—is a flexible plumbing material commonly used for residential water distribution systems.

Its flexibility allows it to be routed through many areas with fewer directional fittings than rigid piping may require.

PEX repiping may be considered for:

  • Whole house repipes
  • Plumbing renovations
  • New water distribution lines
  • Replacement of aging piping
  • Manifold plumbing systems
  • Additions and remodels

The exact installation depends on the layout and construction of the home.

Benefits of PEX Repiping

Homeowners may consider PEX for several reasons.

Flexible Installation

PEX can bend around certain obstacles and changes in direction, potentially reducing the number of fittings required in some installations.

No Metal Pipe Corrosion

PEX itself does not corrode in the same way metallic water piping can.

Versatile Routing

Its flexibility can make PEX useful when routing new water lines through existing structures.

Manifold Compatibility

PEX is frequently associated with manifold-style plumbing systems that can provide organized distribution to different fixtures or areas of the home.

Integrity Plumbing also provides Plumbing Manifold Upgrades in Las Vegas for homeowners interested in updating or improving existing manifold systems.

Copper Repiping in Las Vegas

Copper has been used for residential plumbing systems for decades and remains another option for water distribution piping.

Copper is rigid rather than flexible and is installed using fittings at changes in direction and branch connections.

A copper repipe may be considered depending on the home’s existing plumbing, project goals, installation conditions, and homeowner preferences.

Integrity Plumbing can discuss PEX and copper options based on the actual property rather than recommending one material for every home.

PEX vs. Copper Repiping

One of the most common questions homeowners have is whether they should choose PEX or copper for a whole house repipe.

There isn’t one answer that is automatically correct for every property.

PEX

PEX is flexible and can often be routed efficiently through existing structures. It doesn’t experience metallic corrosion and can work well with manifold-style plumbing systems.

Copper

Copper is a rigid, established plumbing material with a long history of use in residential water systems.

Which Is Better?

The better option depends on factors such as:

  • Home construction
  • Existing plumbing
  • Pipe routing
  • Project scope
  • Accessibility
  • Budget
  • Homeowner preferences
  • Local requirements

Integrity Plumbing can evaluate your home and explain the options available for your particular repiping project.

What Is a PEX Plumbing Manifold?

A plumbing manifold acts as a central distribution point for water lines.

In certain PEX plumbing configurations, individual lines may run from the manifold to specific fixtures or groups of fixtures.

This can create an organized water distribution system and may provide more direct control over individual plumbing lines.

If your home already has a manifold that’s outdated, damaged, or poorly configured, Integrity Plumbing can evaluate it as part of your repiping project.

Does Repiping Improve Water Pressure?

Repiping can improve water flow when old, restricted, deteriorated, or undersized piping is contributing to the problem.

However, not every low-pressure problem originates from the pipes inside the house.

Possible causes also include:

  • Pressure regulator issues
  • Main water service line problems
  • Shutoff valve problems
  • Municipal supply conditions
  • Individual fixture restrictions

That’s why diagnosing the cause first is important.

Integrity Plumbing can provide Water Pressure Troubleshooting before determining whether repiping is appropriate.

Whole House Repiping for Older Las Vegas Homes

Older properties may have gone through decades of plumbing modifications.

One home can contain several generations of plumbing work, including original piping, newer repairs, additions, remodels, and replacement sections.

This can result in a system containing multiple materials and connection types.

A whole house plumbing evaluation can help determine:

  • What piping materials are present
  • Which sections have previously been replaced
  • Where deterioration is occurring
  • Whether repairs are isolated or widespread
  • Whether the system is properly sized
  • Whether valves and related components should also be upgraded

Integrity Plumbing can use that information to develop a repiping plan based on the actual home.

Whole House Repiping During a Remodel

Major renovations can be an ideal time to address aging plumbing.

Walls, ceilings, cabinets, bathrooms, or kitchens may already be undergoing construction, creating an opportunity to replace plumbing that would otherwise be more difficult to access.

Consider having your plumbing evaluated when planning:

  • Kitchen remodels
  • Bathroom remodels
  • Room additions
  • Laundry room renovations
  • Whole house renovations
  • Fixture relocations
  • Major property upgrades

Addressing aging pipes during a larger renovation can help ensure that newly remodeled areas aren’t relying on deteriorating plumbing hidden behind finished surfaces.

Repiping Kitchens

Kitchens contain several water supply connections that may be addressed during a repipe.

These can include:

  • Kitchen faucets
  • Dishwashers
  • Refrigerators
  • Ice makers
  • Pot fillers
  • Other water-connected appliances

If you’re remodeling your kitchen, Integrity Plumbing can evaluate both the existing piping and planned fixture locations.

Repiping Bathrooms

Bathrooms typically contain several hot and cold water lines within a relatively small area.

A bathroom repipe may involve supply lines serving:

  • Toilets
  • Sinks
  • Showers
  • Bathtubs
  • Specialty fixtures

When multiple bathrooms share aging plumbing, a whole house approach may be more practical than replacing one section at a time.

Hot and Cold Water Line Replacement

Whole house repiping generally involves evaluating both the hot and cold water distribution system.

Hot water piping carries water from the water heater to fixtures throughout the home.

Cold water lines distribute incoming water directly to fixtures and appliances.

If you’re experiencing hot-water-specific plumbing problems, Integrity Plumbing can also evaluate your water heater.

We provide Water Heater Repair in Las Vegas for homeowners experiencing problems with their hot water systems.

Repiping and Your Water Heater

A repiping project is also an opportunity to look at the condition of connected plumbing equipment.

The water heater is a major part of the home’s hot water distribution system.

If the water heater is leaking, aging, or experiencing performance problems, addressing it at the same time as other significant plumbing work may be worth considering.

Integrity Plumbing can inspect the water heater and determine whether repair is needed.

Repiping and Your Main Shutoff Valve

The main water shutoff valve is one of the most important plumbing components in your home.

It allows the home’s water supply to be shut off when repairs are needed or during a plumbing emergency.

If the valve is old, corroded, leaking, difficult to turn, or doesn’t completely stop the water, it may be worth replacing during a larger plumbing project.

Integrity Plumbing provides Shutoff Valve Replacement in Las Vegas and can evaluate the valve as part of your repiping project.

Repiping and Pressure Regulator Valves

A pressure regulator valve helps control the water pressure entering the home’s plumbing system.

When you’re replacing a significant portion of the plumbing system, it’s useful to understand whether the incoming water pressure is appropriate.

Excessively high water pressure can place unnecessary stress on plumbing components, fixtures, valves, and appliances.

Pressure that is too low can make everyday water use frustrating.

Integrity Plumbing provides Pressure Regulator Valve Installation and Replacement in Las Vegas when a PRV needs attention.

Las Vegas Hard Water and Your Plumbing

Hard water is an important consideration for Las Vegas homeowners.

Hard water contains dissolved minerals that can leave scale deposits on plumbing fixtures, faucets, showerheads, and water-using appliances.

Over time, mineral buildup may also affect parts of the plumbing system.

If you’re already investing in a whole house repipe, it may be worth discussing your water quality at the same time.

Integrity Plumbing provides Water Softener Installation in Las Vegas for homeowners looking to reduce hardness minerals in their household water.

Should I Install a Water Softener After Repiping?

A water softener and whole house repiping serve different purposes.

Repiping replaces water distribution piping.

A water softener treats hardness minerals in the incoming water.

If hard water is a concern, installing or upgrading water-treatment equipment may complement a larger plumbing improvement project.

Integrity Plumbing can discuss how these systems fit into the overall plumbing setup.

Does a Whole House Repipe Include Drain Pipes?

Usually, repiping refers to water supply piping, not the drain and sewer system.

Your water lines deliver clean water to fixtures.

Drain lines carry wastewater away from fixtures.

Problems such as clogged sinks, slow drains, or drain backups are therefore separate from water-supply repiping.

If you’re experiencing drainage problems, Integrity Plumbing also provides Drain Cleaning in Las Vegas.

Whole House Repipe vs. Repeated Pipe Repairs

Homeowners understandably want to avoid replacing more plumbing than necessary. If one isolated section of otherwise healthy plumbing fails, repairing that section may be entirely appropriate.

The decision becomes different when leaks repeatedly occur throughout an aging plumbing system.

Consider the larger picture:

  • How old is the piping?
  • How many leaks have occurred?
  • Are problems appearing in different locations?
  • Are pipes visibly deteriorated?
  • Is water pressure declining?
  • Are repairs becoming more frequent?
  • Are you already planning renovations?

At some point, continually repairing individual weak spots may become less practical than replacing the deteriorating system. Integrity Plumbing can help you evaluate those factors.

How Long Does a Whole House Repipe Take?

The amount of time required depends on the home and project.

Factors can include:

  • Size of the house
  • Number of bathrooms
  • Number of plumbing fixtures
  • Pipe material
  • Home layout
  • Accessibility
  • Existing plumbing configuration
  • Scope of replacement
  • Whether remodeling is underway

A plumber needs to evaluate the property before providing a project-specific timeline.

Will Walls Need to Be Opened for Repiping?

Repiping often requires access to plumbing located behind walls or ceilings.

The amount of access required varies substantially depending on the home’s construction and the routing of the new piping.

Flexible materials such as PEX can sometimes provide routing options that differ from rigid piping, but every home is different.

Integrity Plumbing can evaluate potential pipe routes and explain the expected scope before work begins.

Can I Repipe Only Part of My House?

In some situations, yes.

A partial repipe may make sense when plumbing problems are limited to a particular section of the property or when part of the system has already been replaced.

However, if the remaining piping is the same age and condition as the failed section, it’s worth evaluating whether additional failures are likely.

Integrity Plumbing can inspect the overall plumbing system before recommending a partial or complete repipe.

Should I Repipe Before Selling My Home?

That depends on the condition of the plumbing system and your plans for the property.

If a home has a history of recurring leaks or known plumbing problems, addressing those issues before listing may reduce the chance of plumbing concerns arising during the transaction.

A plumbing evaluation can help you understand the condition of the system before deciding whether repiping makes sense.

Whole House Repiping for Residential Properties

Integrity Plumbing provides Residential Plumbing Services for homeowners throughout Las Vegas.

A repiping project can be tailored to the home’s layout, plumbing condition, fixture count, existing piping, and future renovation plans.

Our plumbers can evaluate both the immediate plumbing problem and the larger system before recommending a solution.

Should I Repipe a House I Just Bought?

If you’ve recently purchased an older Las Vegas home, you may not know the complete history of the plumbing. A professional evaluation can help identify:

  • Existing pipe materials
  • Previous repairs
  • Visible corrosion
  • Active leaks
  • Shutoff valve condition
  • Water pressure
  • Plumbing configuration

That doesn’t mean every older home needs to be repiped. The goal is to understand the system and make informed decisions about repairs and upgrades.

Commercial Repiping Services

Aging water lines aren’t limited to residential properties.

Commercial buildings can also experience recurring leaks, deteriorated plumbing, pressure problems, and outdated water distribution systems.

Integrity Plumbing provides Commercial Plumbing Services for businesses and commercial properties in Las Vegas.

Commercial repiping requirements vary significantly depending on the size and use of the property, so each system should be evaluated individually.

How Much Does Whole House Repiping Cost?

The cost of repiping depends on the specific property and scope of work.

Factors can include:

  • Size of the home
  • Number of fixtures
  • Number of bathrooms
  • Piping material
  • Accessibility
  • Existing plumbing layout
  • Amount of piping being replaced
  • Complexity of installation
  • Related plumbing upgrades

Because homes vary considerably, an on-site evaluation provides a more useful estimate than a generic price range.

Why Choose Integrity Plumbing for Repiping in Las Vegas?

A whole house repipe is a significant plumbing project, and determining whether you actually need one is just as important as the installation itself.

Integrity Plumbing evaluates the existing plumbing system before recommending the appropriate solution.

Depending on what we find, your home may need:

  • A localized pipe repair
  • Partial repiping
  • Whole house PEX repiping
  • Copper repiping
  • Water service line replacement
  • Manifold upgrades
  • Shutoff valve replacement
  • Pressure regulator replacement
  • Water pressure troubleshooting
  • Water heater repair
  • Water softener installation

Our goal is to address the actual plumbing problem while considering the long-term needs of your property.

Frequently Asked Questions About Whole House Repiping

Whole house repiping generally involves replacing aging or problematic water supply piping throughout a home with new plumbing material.

Possible signs include recurring leaks, corrosion, low water pressure, reduced flow, discolored water, aging pipes, and a history of repeated plumbing repairs.

PEX is commonly used for residential water distribution systems. Its flexibility can make it useful for routing new plumbing through existing homes. Whether it is appropriate for your property depends on the specific installation.

Yes. Copper remains an established plumbing material and may be considered depending on the property, installation conditions, and homeowner preferences.

Neither material is automatically the best choice for every property. PEX and copper have different characteristics, and the appropriate option depends on the home and project.

It may improve water flow when old or restricted pipes are contributing to the problem. However, low pressure can also be caused by the service line, pressure regulator, valves, fixtures, or other conditions.

Not necessarily. A single localized leak may only require repair. Whole house repiping is generally considered when plumbing problems are widespread, recurring, or related to the overall condition of the piping system.

Repiping generally replaces water distribution pipes throughout the home. Main water service line replacement addresses the pipe supplying water from the municipal connection to the property.

Not typically. Water supply pipes and drain pipes serve different purposes. Drain-line problems are generally addressed separately.

Sometimes. Whether a partial repipe makes sense depends on the location of the plumbing problem and the condition of the remaining piping.

If the existing shutoff valve is leaking, difficult to operate, deteriorated, or unreliable, replacing it while other plumbing work is underway may be worth considering.

If recurring leaks are being caused by widespread deterioration of the water distribution piping, replacing the affected piping can address the underlying system rather than repeatedly repairing individual failures.

I had a very complex situation with my shower that is 40+ years old and for 6 months every plumber I hired turned down the job due to it being too difficult. Several other plumbers told me this issue was not fixable and that I needed to just build an entirely new shower. Vio, Lenny and Justin said they loved a challenge and boy did they deliver! These guys were the nicest, most professional team and they resolved the job in a very short time and were also very sympathetic to my situation. They walked me through each step and kept in constant communication with me on what to expect, when parts came in, when they could come back, etc. I am so impressed with these guys and they saved me from having to rip out my shower and build a new one. They were trustworthy, reliable and they had fun personalities and we had some good laughs while they worked. I highly recommend using Integrity Plumbing. I would definitely hire them again, especially Vio, Lenny and Justin as they were awesome!
